Can anyone > please give me a review? > I would really appreciate it. >> Hiyas! Shadow Stalker is the monly Misty music I own, and I love it! 'Windrider Unchained' is my favorite piece on the cd, but I like all but 'Herald's Creed' (it sounds really cheesy). 'Demons Bane' is really creative- HA does different voices when she sings it and it's amusing (to say the least). All of the songs written in the back of the LHM books are on the cd, along with some others. 'Earth Spirt' is about the kyree (sp?), and it's kind of odd- it took me forever to figure out what it what talking about. 'Hawkbrother' is another of my favorites. Most of the songs tell stories about events in the book. 'Shadow Lover' talks about death, personified, and is lovely to listen to. Uhh... 'Cold Drake' tells about the time Van fights the monster and saves a town (and desides to be a mage) theres alot of death, but it's still great. I guess thats it. Wait- one more thing- 'My Lady's Eyes' is on this cd! It really is a bunch of drivel- blah! But I have to say that it's catchy and will have you singing it with a love sick voice. There are some other songs on the cd too- 'Nightblades' reminds me of something Edgar Alen Poe would write. Sorry this was so long and scattered, but it's early and I don't have much time beor class. Hope this was of some help! Presto! Thanks!! > > Presto! > ~*Korendel*~ Well it is not really a Valdemar CD, rather it is a mix of genres. Magic, Moondust & Melancholy is the CD/cassette I am referring to. It has Valdemar songs on it, Wind's Four Quarters & Kerowyn's Ride. F.A.P. is good for a chuckle, while Medic is a sad one. Golden Eyes is a very interesting song with a beautiful ending. Not a single lemon in the bunch. The capper is that it ends with Of Cabbages which I have to be careful when I listen to as it has a tendency of getting to me, I love the song even though it hurts. I have several of the tape/CD's. I would recomment "Heralds, Harpers, and Havoc" and "Lovers, Lore, and Loss." I advise against either of the Oathbound tapes/CDs. Finally, Magic, Moondust, and Melancholy has a couple of interesting songs, but if you are trying to decide between it and something else due to a limited music budget, get the other. Star Hello all! As it nears the center of the Circle, the shadows solidify to the form of a young female, whose dark ebony hair is cut almost boyish-ly short. Her supple, whip-cord thin body is clothed in form-fitting leathers dyed smokey black. Her black cloak dangles from one hand; this lack of cover betrayed the existence of the glinting throwing-daggers sheathed at the top of each arm. She shifts her weight and clears her throught uncomfortably as the eyes of the Mistic Circle focus on her. The other members look on with surprise: her movements from the corner had been so silent that they had passed unnoticed until that sound. Her uncomfortability with being the primary focus of such a large group manages to crack her usually-cloudy facial expression, showing a flash of uneasiness. She looks around her as she begins to speak, in a voice that seems soft but carries to the edges of the room. "I'm sorry for my state of semi-lurking for the past few weeks," she says with a hint of a lilting accent, "I've been slightly preoccupied, but I've been following the conversation steadfastly." Suddenly, she throws her right arm into the air, a movement that makes some of the members of the Circle flinch back in response. Her right forearm is encased in a leather gauntlet reaching to her elbow. The beating of wings is heard from above, and a gyrfalcon glides easily down to land on her arm as gently as possible. The bird is mainly white, with black tipping the ends of each feather. The blinking of the gyrfalcon is returned by the blinks of surprise by some of the other members of the Circle. "As you can see, one of my preoccupations has decided to present himself," she continues with an impish grin and a wink. "I'd like to introduce all of you to Kyrh, a slightly unexpected, but very good friend of mine. I quite like it, except for the last song, which is somewhat grating. There are a couple of examples of Hawkbrother music and they are VERY good. As for the other Valdemaran albums, Oathbound and Oathbreakers have great music and I *highly* recommend them. By the Sword is also good although I have issues with at least one song and whether it belongs with tales of Kerowyn. It is a song about calling a kyree and Kero never did that, Kethry did. HH&H and LL&L are good albums. LL&L picks up where HH&H left off. My fave songs are "Her Father's Eyes," "Dark and Stormy Night," and the songs about Selenay in battle and the one where several characters talk about sending friends off to die. I have never heard the album associated with Bedlam's Bards, but I've heard Tempest's "Serrated Edge." I didn't like it. For a couple of songs Misty's written with Leslie Fish, check out "Horsetamer's Daughter," if you can find it :) Well, that's all from a filk addict. The music is lite, easy on the ears. Marty Robbins, Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin (only the tamer stuff). Yet while easy on the ears some of it is very strong stuff. Shadow Lover has a very strong theme imo. After all its a song about death. Other songs are very, very silly, one of my personal favorites in the silly field is A Dark and Stormy Night, yes I know it involves a murder, but it was justifiable homicide. (Seriously, I would never consider the reason for the murder in this song to justify a homicide. Divorce, yes! But not murder) Some of the material has the ability to really touch a person, at least it has me. It is music that I for one have enjoyed listening to repeatedly. Not every day but I doubt that a month goes by that I don't pop at least one of them in the CD player at work. As for the car, I've got a 10 disc deck and it has Shadow Stalker, HH& H, LL&L, sitting in there and they've been there for at least a year. If you find that you enjoy the music I recommend Michael Longcor, he has a good mix of music including some humorous material.
