But since Talia's is > two hands clasped without a heart or crown, I guess that doesn't really bear > any importance anyway does it? In the case of these rings, according to Kris, the ring on the right hand denotes friendship with the giver, the left is "reserved for another purpose". I would assume that would be love and/or marriage. However, did anyone else notice that when Talia got married it said that she had moved Kris's ring to the finger beside the one that she wears Dirks ring on? -- Paige Proud Mom of Victoria - 4/24/98 Proud to be Outlandish Royal Defender of The Brat There is no "I" in "TEAM"...but there is an "M" and an "E" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Sep 1999 18:14:02 CDT From: "Adieu McClane" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: im back Message-ID: <19990919231402.2351.qmail-+AT+-hotmail.com> immmm baaaaack heyla all once apon a time long ago i was on this list with the sig Wynd (and i dont know how many of you from that time are still on the list) maybe somebody remembers me?:) if not oh well i remember the list and i missed it very much. im looking forward to talking to all of you again and im REALLY glad to be back! bye for now Adieu "Time flies when the Devil drives" ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Sep 1999 17:13:42 PDT From: "Brynn/Jennifer Ireland" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Question of Rings - Arrows Series Message-ID: <19990920001344.88660.qmail-+AT+-hotmail.com> Heyla, listsibs... i'm back again (sorta) Paige worte: >In the case of these rings, according to Kris, the ring on the right >hand denotes friendship with the giver, the left is "reserved for >another purpose". I would assume that would be love and/or marriage. Time for my annual $.02 . in the case of Talia's ring vs. the Claddagh, I've got one too (a ring), and another thing about it is that if you wear it on your right hand facing out it means "open/availiable," pointing in on right hand means "have boyfriend/going steady," pointing out on LEFT hand means "engaged," and pointing in on left hand means "married." maybe the idea is totally based on the Claddagh? however, i have no idea why she switched hands after her marriage except maybe it was like "okay, i'm married, and this won't make Dirk mad, and Kris meant so much to me that I'll put him right up there with Dirk-Dirk." sort of a symbolic statement that she loved Kris too, just differently than Dirk. Paige also wrote (in her sig.): >There is no "I" in "TEAM"...but there is an "M" and an "E" My band instructor would hate that... he say "There is no "I" in Marching Band, nor is there one in "family." nice sentiment, no spelling ability. hehehehe.
