I started reading her works in 1978. From her, I learned a lot, about my nature, myself, my life-path. I later branched out to Misty, Tanya Huff and others due to contact with the DARKOVER novels. She will be missed. I hope her Ascension to the Summerlands was a peaceful one. Blessed Be, Carl (aka Tayledras Adept Dreamwalker) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Its a sad day when the world loses a beloved author, someone who changed lives with the heart and soul they added to their work. The funny thing is that I, although not a fan of her writing, was a fan of her. I often picked her books up at the library just to read the comments in the front. Marion Zimmer Bradley, like so few other authors, ie Anne McCauffrey, Lackey, had character and the importance of her work to her showed in everything she wrote. What she did for young and new writers with her anthologies was unparaleled in the feild. I would like to express my sympathies to those who loved her and....Gods speed... I was very sad to find out today while reading my email that MZB has passed on. I, well, I know I don't really post much, (at all, like maybe twice, ever) but I read everything and this saddened me. I remember reading _The Mists of Avalon_ a few years ago,(and many times since then) and thought it was one of the most wonderful books ever. We got that book when my mom was on maternity leave from work with me, as a present from her co-workers. That really makes it special to me, and despite the fact that I never got the chance to start the Darkover novels, I think now I will, just because... well, I never really was good with words. If you'll all excuse me, I think I'll go find somebody I know to cry with. Much sorrow, Shala ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2093 **********************************
