I finished reading 'Firerose' the other day and have to vent about one point. This point has to do with any books, not just Firerose, or Misty stuff... * * S P O I L E R S P A C E * * Okay... So Rose and the Firemaster end up together, all happily ever after- yadda yadda yadda- mushy, sweet sappy ending. But of course we don't get to hear the entire story. There's the earthquake, and then the actual story ends- there's just an AFTERWARD section. Well it couldn't be all wine and roses after the earthquake and befor the wedding and stuff. There has to be more to it! Arg! I can't stand AFTERWARDS. They drive me crazy. I always feel as if I'm being cheated out of the rest of the story. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like that?? **END SPOILER** Okay- so anyway... Now that I've vented about that... Right now I'm reading 'If I Pay Thee Not I Gold'... So far I'm really liking the plot (I'm about half way threw it)... I must admit though... I read the last page already... It was killing me and since I know it'll be forever befor I'll have a chance to finish the book... I cheated... And I don't fee bad about it either... Actually reading the book is much more enjoyable now that I know what I know... ::giggles:: Anyway... I'll sign out now... Plesent readings... Message-ID: <31fae666.252993a6-+AT+-aol.com> Hi- This is my first post to the list...I have been a silent observer for about a month now and thought it was time to say hi. That, and a have a question. How long does t normally take for a hard cover book...say Owlknight...to go to paperback. You see I have all the other books in the Valdemar series in paperback, my nice, neat, even bookshelf would be distorted by a much bigger book. but, I don't know how long I can wait to know what happens next. Just a personal note...i got into Misty's books last summer and stared with the Black Griffin and have gone all the way up to Owlsight....this is the first time I have actually had to wait for her nex book to come out.~sniffles~ What can I say i've been spoiled. Anyway I have rambled on long enough for my first post, if anyone knows please let me know. You *have* been spoiled ;-) I started with Winds of Change without realizing that it was a part of a series. Took me 6 years to locate the rest, and no I'm having to wait too. Plus, I have to wait a year longer than my U.S. counterparts because we Canuks don't get them at the same time. It'll probably be Christmas of *next* year before I get Owl _Sight_! -- Paige Proud Mom of Victoria - 4/24/98 Proud to be Outlandish Royal Defender of The Brat There is no "I" in "TEAM"...but there is an "M" and an "E" ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Oct 1999 11:31:23 PDT From: "David Bell" To: mercedes-lackey-+AT+-herald.co.uk Subject: Re: Books whose author(s) include "Mercedes Lackey" Message-ID: <19991004183123.13216.qmail-+AT+-hotmail.com> > >You *have* been spoiled ;-) I started with Winds of Change without >realizing that it was a part of a series. It'll probably be Christmas of *next* year before I get Owl >_Sight_! Talk about Picky, I have know got as far as owning most of the valdemar books, + lark & wren, and 3 SERRAted edge books. I think of these about 6 are actually UK releases, the rest are imports, and I reckon its easier to import to Canada (less sea in the way). What bugs me is different publishers hold the rights to some books, Four & Twenty Blackbirds has been published over here, by a company that Doesn't publish the previous 3 in the series, and therefore doesn't list them. On a none ML point Has anyone ever seen Galen Sword bk 3 by Garfield Reeves Stevens. The first two are amazing, but nobody has ever seen Book 3. Was it ever published? Anyway I recomend the First two to anyone interested in a modern horror/fantasy series. Not as stressful as the Serrated edge books, and very well written. P.S. I saw Owlsight in Dublin for £9 (about $12.50) for the standard PB, so if it's out in Ireland, you should be able to get it in Canada soon. And what is with the Pastry? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of MERCEDES-LACKEY Digest 2099 **********************************
