So you are saying that Mindspeech is actually some form of telepathy and not actually a language. thanks for the info. Here's another question. If two people are communicating by the use of telepathy how are the thoughts of one interpreted by the other? In a message dated 99-10-09 07:31:21 EDT, you write: << If two people are communicating by the use of telepathy how are the thoughts of one interpreted by the other? >> They *seem* to be Sent as words are, just as an overall emotion rather than actual words. Many books refer to them as "colorations," ie: yellow conveys laughter, merriment, etc. They may be Sent in the same way as an Empath feels emotions- whenever Rolan Sends an emotion to Talia, I think she feels it the same way as she receives Empathy emotions. Maybe this Sending of emotions is a lesser form of Emphatic Projection-- how Talia cold broad-send her emotions or feelings of reassurance to others (for textev, see AFall, PB pg. 240--"Wait!" she coughed, and as DIrk half-turned, she projected everything she felt into his open mind, and heart. All he love, her need for him--forcing him to see the truth that words alone would never make him believe." Also Kris's quote before this excerpt.). Well, I've started to read _Knight_of_Ghosts_and_Shadows_, and I've really liked it so far. I haven't had much to do with Urban Fantasy, so I didn't quite know what to expect, but Misty's is great, and you cna see her touch on it (well, obviously i guess, since she wrote it, but....*g*). And thanks for everyone's help on the IRC questions I asked. I'm still having a bit of trouble connecting, but I hope to be chatting at #valdemar and #k'valdemar soon (sometimes AOL can cause more problems than it solves, *g*). Well, that seems to be all for me to say for now...apologies for such a short post.
