And Van...I just kept wanting to give him a good shake and tell him to "get a grip". However, it wasn't until I read the Mage Winds series (love Jody Lee's artwork on the covers), and then the Mage Storms series, that I seriously started looking at Misty's backlist. My favourite character is Karal, because he has to be the most normal out of all the major characters. My favourite people are the Talyedras, I just love the idea of a race of people living in trees, with huge birds as companions (no pun intended) :) And yes, I have finally re-read LHM again. Maybe it's because I'm more mature now (hah!), but I have more sympathy for what Van's has gone through. And although I still think in the first book, he is a bit of a brat, I certainly like how he has grown into his abilities and responsibilities by the second and third books. Anyway, these are my vague recollections. Wow, that's certainly longer than I had planned.
