This has been going on for a long time, mouse clones preceded sheep by many
years.

In plants (propagation via cuttings) for hundreds and quite likely
thousands of years and some plants, a few animals and most bacteria usually
take the clone route for reproduction.

So the "rules" are well known.

Little Egret
