We have a deposit law on soft-drink cans and bottles, as well as beer, wine
and liquor containers, in Iowa.  It came in in 1978, and although I'm no fan
of such laws, I can see why a lot of people like it---there's a lot more
rubbish in the ditches in other states I've been in.
