I do wonder, in pre-industrial times, just how mysterious and 
frightening all these non-obvious-cause complications used to be -- Rh 
factor, eclampsia, ectopic pregnancy -- no wonder they blamed witches...

(Now with power -- it was out for about 4 hours this afternoon, side 
effect of the very welcome rain.  All those Indian movies (well, 2) that 
purport to show how dodgy things are by having power outages, ha.  We 
have several a year, here, sometimes for up to 4 days.)
