Yes, but Cordelia had already been established as
being baby-hungry.  She'd been bribed out of going for
a promotion on Beta with the promise of a child, she
openly envied women on Barrayar with several children,
and planned to be the mother of at least three.  She
already identified Miles as her beloved son and saw
'the easy way out' as the death of her child.

It would have been exceedingly out-of-character for
her NOT to make that choice.

reproduction.  Talking to anyone who's childless by
choice can open a real floodgate of vitriol, inspired
by the weight of society's expectation for offspring.
