Hmm, I hit my head pretty badly when I was three during a nasty fall. 
Might have had a concussion, but no lasting ill effects, afaik. So that 
wouldn't apply. But my mom might have died at ten, if not for modern 
medicine, so that's one thing. She'd also have lost the use of her right 
ear (I think) if she lived 100 years ago.
