As do I. One of the markers I look for is the ability to
acknowledge that remarks one may not have even meant to be
offensive can be, and to apologise when one recognises that one
has unintentionally given offence. To do otherwise sends the
message that perhaps the offence was not unintentional.
After all, it's hard to say you're sorry if you're not--and it's
hard not to actually BE sorry if you've offended someone by
accident.
The "can't you take a JOKE" response is something I expect to
find in pre-adolescents of all ages. If you know Ann, you're
perhaps entitled to tease her in private, depending upon the
parameters of your friendship--but doing it in public is not
particularly funny.

There is nothing in my pockets except a cellphone. And a teabag,
because the tea at this dump stinks. There were two, but I'm now
drinking tea.
I have a sense of humour. It's just not much like yours. It's
apparently not like a lot of people's, since most "comedies"
don't appeal to me--but that's one of the reasons why I like
Bujold, you see, because she writes humour I can relate to.
