one major difference is that on radio, no one is spending 90% of his/her 
energy on looking good or posing for the camera.  all that effort goes into 
sounding intelligent instead.  also  if you ca express an opinion by rolling 
your eyes at your opponent, or use other body language, you don't have to 
take the time to compose a scathing reply.
