That too - there is a particular good region of that in the middle
area of the Balkan mountain. Although my favourite is apricot -
preferably made by my grandfather. And our region has very good grape
brandy too. (those would be, respecively, kaysieva rakia and grozdova
rakia). Distilled, so one has to be very careful to buy the quality
stuff (one friend of mine got serious stomach upset when a friend of
his treated him to some made of oranges - with the pealings. Obviously
there were some chemicals in the pealings that didn't benefit from the
distillation...

And that's why I prefer the stuff made by my grandpa - I know he grows
the fruit and prepares the material for distillation and oversees the
distillation. :) the results are good.
