Hmm. I had a step-grandmother ... she was lovely.

Step-grandparents are both indulgent and wicked, as they a) often sneak 
children treats said children are not meant to have and allow them 
(closely supervised) to learn to use tools they are not yet considered 
old enough to learn to touch.

They also tell slightly scurrilous stories to the child, as appropriate.
