Weird.  It's such common usage here that I didn't even think that it
wouldn't be known elsewhere.  Wellington has a CBD, Auckland has a CBD,
Hamilton kinda has a CBD (formerly from there)...

I heard so many Katrina jokes though...  My ex-flatmate's favourite was:
"Katrina is God's punishment for homosexuality."
