[LMB] reader response curiosity

Y'know...

    I'd be very interested in reader feedback from someone who read 
TSK:B who 1) has never read a prior Bujold book to create any particular 
warring expectations 2) is primarily a romance reader and, for an extra 
bonus, 3) caught the fact that it's vol. 1, possibly from such subtle 
clues as, say, the fact that it says "Volume One" on the dust jacket and 
title, and so is not artificially disconcerted when the break point at 
the end of the volume is not the end of the story.

    Naturally, parameter 1) means, not someone who normally hangs out on 
this list.  But it might be someone who knows someone who hangs out on 
this list...   If anyone  is in a position to collect such commentary, 
do pass it along.
