Hi Becca,
We have the Hardie Dux (gas) model. Wonderful - definitely better than
electric. It does the whole house and has two controllers - one in the
kitchen and one in our ensuite (the kitchen one used to be in the
laundry but it became less convenient as time went by so we decided to
have it moved). You can usually get up to four controllers depending
on how complicated you want to make the pipe zoning.
We usually have it set at 55 degrees which is as hot as you would want
it for hand washing up (our dishwasher heats its own if not to the temp
required for the programme) - also means that the kids don't
accidentally scald themselves if they forget to turn it down to 39 for
bathtime.
That said it can go all the way up to 75 degrees if you need it to.
(Our govt regulations state that 55 is supposed to be the max on all
new water heaters to prevent scalding accidents - but ours went in just
before they brought in that ruling.)
BTW where are you geographically? - cause that would make a difference
to brands available (both LucyC and I are in Australia)
Cheers
