>fawn worries about dag stepping in the jam she used to slow up the mud men. and she worries about bleeding and staining the ticks. now, i admit i'm not much of a housewife, but is this the time for her to be worrying aobut this? same problem as before. i do not understand this girl at all at this point.

At this point, she's in shock and is focusing on just about everything
except, "I was mentally prepared to be a mom, and love the kid, and
starting to connect with her... and now it's all gone, and I was
captured by a terrible thing and it hurt and was scary and if I go there
I'm going to start screaming and not stop."

Only because she's focused on NOT going there, we can't easily get that
thought out of her.

>"if you cant fix the real problem, fix something else?" *snicker* maybe htat's what fawn is doing, too. don't worry about the baby or possibly dying, just worry about the mess.

Yes, exactly. The whole thing is so big in the back of her head that
the only fixing is... pretty trivial, in comparison.

(About the closest I've come was when I was having a quasi-emergency
C-section (they said, "We want to do a C-section. Now." But there was
enough time for me to sign the surgery forms.); it's only in hindsight
that I can really piece together, logically, how stressful it was.)
