I am very, very very tired of hearing from straight, monogamous
men that they are bothered/disturbed/whatever by slash.  VERY
tired.

It isn't written for you, any more than various kinds of
pornography many women find offensive were written for me, and
frankly, hearing straight guys go on about slash in a tone which
implies that their opinions have any bearing on the matter
whatsoever smacks strongly of entitlement to me.

For heaven's sake, I only mentioned its *existence*; I didn't
imply that everyone on the list ought to enjoy or read it.

Furthermore, the fact is, a lot of slash isn't about sexualised
friendship; some of it is about the sexual undertones of dislike,
and my OTP (one true pairing) is actually two brothers who are
sometimes friends and sometimes at each other's throats.  I
expect that is something you would not want to read. I also take
great care when I write it to label it so that no-one who does
not want to read it ends up reading it by accident, so anyone who
is offended by it has gone and ignored all my warnings and
offended themselves, anyway.

I wonder if you knew when you posted how many slash WRITERS there
are on this list.

I accept your apology, but I refuse to take responsibility for a
message that you are receiving from the entire culture that I, in
particular, am not attempting to send you, given that I have in
fact BEEN celibate longer than I'd like to have been because my
conditions for being otherwise have yet to be met!
