Amen to both of those. Know what the deal-breakers are. Know what the deal-
*makers* are.

To drag it slightly on-topic (but not removing the OT:), it's like Miles
and Ekaterin. Miles is, indeed, short and high-handed and covered in scars.
This could be a deal-breaker for some people. On the other hand, if his
personality is the winning thing, and the rest _isn't_ that big a
deal, there's nothing wrong in saying, "This. I want this. I don't care
if the wrapping isn't perfect, _this_ is the core of what I want and
the rest is froufrou."
