I was just struck by the thought that what if Gregor wasn't the first child,
but the second - twins, perhaps, with the first born only living a few hours
- enough time to be named, anyhow, and thus making Gregor's name fit in with
the customs.
In answer to the question and contrasting with the group here - I don't
think I'd want to live on Barrayar at all. Komarr would be interesting, but
not enough trees. I almost think that I'd like to come from Earth. I think
Earth, in the Vorkosigan universe would be a fascinating place to live.
It's one of the few times I've seen an Earth *without* a united planetary
government and something I really appreciate.
Of course, travelling would be interesting...
