Well, if his route does include Connor Prairie, and he's entering Indiana
from the Chicago area, how about getting off the interstate to drive through
the Amish area of northern Indiana, if he's got time. Or just have a section
of his trip be on state roads instead of big highways, for a look at a small
town or two, the sort of town with a town square with a courthouse.
Or, for an interesting small city, Columbus In. Cummins Engines, the town's
big industry, has had program for years, that for new buildings in town,
they'll pay for a GOOD architect. So there are municipal buildings and
churches designed by Saarinen or Pei, and so on. Columbus is just south of
Indianapolis.
