[LMB] OT: Wahoo - I'm in the money

On a sad note, my mom [who is 83 years old] is finally sliding into 
alzheimers. Her short term memory is rather patchy, but her long term 
memories [stuff over 2 or 3 years] is still pretty good. My dad is still 
very mentally sharp. His side of the family either drop dead in their 
60s or stay pretty hale and mentally sound until the latter 90s.

Well, her brother died last year and the will finally got probated and I 
got $5000. I am going to go put a down payment on a car that is actually 
made in the same decade we are living in! [for those with an interest, a 
2002 VW jetta. Perfect except for the leather uphoulstry and teh sun 
roof, but I can ignore those]

And we will have enough money left over to renovate the bathroom, and 
renovate our bedroom, and start renovating the livingroom/kitchen!

On top of me finally getting a job this past february, life is finally 
giving me something more than lemons!

and for a quick ob bujold, i just bought the whole set of books in 
american paperback to replace the ones that we have had long enough top 
be tattered and worn, so now I have a set that I can use as loaners.
