My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the Center for Alternative
Technology in Machynnleth, Powys, Wales while on vacation a couple of years
ago.  Their theater building is made of straw bales and is just like any
building, except with thicker walls.

It's definitely worth visiting if you are ever in the area.
