Kiki the hyperactive ferret in the online comic strip "Sluggy Freelance" http://www.sluggy.com is easliy distracted by "... Oooooh, shiny!" shiny stuff.

The strip is fairly popular among fen, especially Baen's Barflies, and Kiki is several years older than "Firefly".
