Not sure it's insulting.  Actually, sure it's not.  I am genuinely 
puzzled as to how people come to the conclusions they do.  Sometime I 
don't get it, and it's an eye-opener when people point out something I'd 
missed.  I think one can be a little bit too sensitive in these 
discussions.  There is nothing meant personally, the statement "not sure 
we read the same book" is just an expression.  I am aware different 
people have different outlooks on life.  I suspect you are being just 
slightly defensive.  I am about to use another expression.  It's 
"knee-jerk."  I sense a knee-jerk reaction to the phrase "not sure we 
read the same book."  Perhaps you have heard it once too often, and have 
   developed an allergy to it.  I f I'd known that, I wouldn't have used 
the phrase, but the cat's out of the bag.  Next time, I'll try to make 
my point without resort to that particular cliche.
