I don't think she's arguing that point.  It's the root canal
without painkillers point :)  I'd have to argue that one too,
I've had a lot of dental trauma :)

I've always thought L at ck#y hit it years and years ago.  Anita
Blake, well--it depends.  Her early books are sf/f.  Her newer
books are pr0n.  (I've read part of a Merry Gentry book.  I found
it in a male friend's bathroom.  It belonged there, too.)
Unexpected genre changes do annoy folks.
