[LMB] Jim Bean RIP - October 22, 1943 - June 28, 2006

Most here have probably already heard this on other currently more 
active lists, but for those who hadn't heard the news.

It had been mentioned here earlier that Jim was comatose after a 
stroke, followed yesterday by the news on www.baen.com and elsewhere
"that publisher Jim Baen passed away on June 28th."

A mighty Kauri Tree has fallen, my condolences to his family and 
friends, and while he will not be forgotten, my hopes that the 
seedlings he has encouraged and supported will grow and help fill in 
the big hole his passing leaves in the forest canopy.
