And then there's the slightly farther midwest version (Illinois) of Mary,  
pronouncing it "Murry".
 
Mary, who has gotten used to being called May-ry in the south, Murry in the  
midwest, Meh-uh-ry in New York, and various other pronunciations in different  
parts of the country.
