I know she didn't have access to a professional copy editor, just
passing copies of her scripts to her sister and niece for a once-over.
 Usually if she's called out on a flub she tries to correct it, but
it's harder for the earlier pages, since they were hand lettered, not
scanned into PaintShop and placed as a seperate layer like later
pages.

I'll have to check if the error you're pointing out is just a
misspelling or an alternate spelling. Keep in mind she lives outside
Melbourne, and Australian English doesn't quite track with American or
English English. :)
