I think we all do at first.  I got my LJ account to
comment on and keep track of online friends, and only
posted irregularly.

And then some very stressful things happened to me and
my LJ became my outlet, where I could scream my head
off and nobody would care.  Except that I suddenly
found that several of my LJ friends *were* friends,
and *did* care, and that made a difference like you
wouldn't believe.  Or maybe people from here would. 
Now I think I'd go into withdrawal if denied access to
my LJ.  There are worse addictions than being
compelled to communicate with one's friends.

Lucky you.  I can't even get my mother to look at
mine.
