Similar things exist in documentation all the time. I believe there
was a software program where the license agreement said something like
"And by reading this document, please contact xxxx for $10".
Surprisingly, they only gave out a couple of awards.

And several coworkers have anecdotes of sticking in really silly
requirements in requirement specs to see if clients actually read them
as well.

So I wouldn't be surprised if patent lawyers stuck those in to make
sure the inventors actually read their patent claims - after all, the
lawyer isn't necessarily familiar with the one key thing, and what may
be patented would be something completely different...
