in my opinion, the whole reason for a turkey, in stead of i.e. a chicken, is 
to have enough food to feed a hwole lot of people.  its not so that turkey 
farmers should have a good season, or that people should have a week's worth 
of left-over, dried-out meat.

lots of people, most of them friends, yay!  when friends are realatives too, 
even bbetter!

 lots of people, most of htem related by blood or marriage, most of them not 
speakig to each other ... not so good.   by the time the main course is 
served, people are choking on bile and don't want to eat anymore.  hten the 
hostess is stuck with leftovers.
