I always understood it to be somewhat analogous to a warmly-distorted
electric guitar, a vocal quality which I like as much as Piemur
himself does. Myself, I don't *like* what seems to me to be excessive
vibrato...why can't they just stay on the note?
NB I have very little technical knowledge about this stuff, but I sure
know what I don't like ;-)
