Umm...don't panic...actually it's a patent for apparatus for making
sandwiches mechanically:
"The present invention relates to a sandwich assembly tool and methods
of making a sandwich[...]quickly by pre-assembly of various sandwich
components and simultaneous preparation of different parts of the same
sandwich"

It's a moulded tool into which you place the various fillings and your
bread roll, and it allows you to fill and close the sandwich...looks
like there could be possibilities for automation even.

It's like a Black-and-Decker Workmate for sandwich makers ;-)
