I wrote about a segment in House where he is trying to talk down an
underaged girl with a crush on him, and suggested his switch to
diagnostic mode was an act.

Several others agree with you. I never saw this segment; I had it
reported to me by DW, who had the same suspicion. I, of course, do
not know, but, historically, he is an excellent actor when it suits
his purposes.
My question about Ista was, suppose this suggestion by House that the
crush was a side effect of some mysterious illness is taken by the
girl.
Would she now be in the position of doubting her own feelings in
subsequent relationships, or is this only a consequence of
demon-inspired affections? That is why I invoked Ista - that was her
scenario. Most of us develop crushes at one time or other that we
chuckle, perhaps ruefully, about later. I'm somewhat past that phase,
and I don't know how I would react if I felt I developed a passion for
someone because of a mysterious illness. So I was wondering about
Ista's ethical reaction to House's ploy - if it was a ploy - not about
a medical interaction between House and Ista. :<)
