That's actually not uncommon among ADD/ADHD sufferers.  The same
paradoxical reaction that makes stimulants calming also makes
drugs that are supposed to calm you down stimulating.  I loved
Valium but it certainly never made me feel calmer!  If I need
more calming than a stimulant will provide I need a muscle
relaxant, not a sedative.  Though Lunesta, which is a newer sleep
drug, does work for me.
