Off list for three days (landline phone out, DSL out Grrrr!) and there were at least 40 digests waiting for me. Including one that mentioned a quiet list?

I just finished  reading through and have the online equivalent of a bitten tongue. Some one beat me to "Melancholy Elephants". My first impression of the "Forbidden Planet" post was, "Say 'hi' to Robbie and look out for the Id monster." 

As to looks, I've never been considered "eye candy" being a short step ahead of repulsive, but I do try to smile at people and not the #7 smile C'Mel used. If I see some one that looks desperately sad, I'll ask if I can help. (Remember what ST:TOS said about, "Can I help?) In the reverse case the most I'm likely to say is, "Please leave me alone."
