Mel our listmistress is running the same listserv software (Mailman) as you
do for the Liad list at fireopal.org and no longer strips the eighth bit.
Thus everyone will get upper ASCII characters, anyone using Latin-1 should
be fine but it is no longer the case that all listees will see the same
thing.

I did say the Linux and Mac users are likely to see something else. ==
If mutt doesn't strip the eighth bit you could look at the text in hex or
fiddle about with a browser or some other tool that knows about Latin-1 ,
UTF-8 and such.
