"Regimental" is Scottish (Scots?). It refers to what a man
properly attired in a Scottish regimental uniform wore
beneath his kilt. *G*
Or so I was told when I first encountered the term, several
decades ago, when I used to hang out with the Royal Scots
Guard of An Tir. (1)
I could see Aral going regimental at Vorkosigan Surleau,
when he could let his hair (and his guard) down. But I
can't picture him in a kilt, even though I'm sure he'd look
mighty fine in one. I've yet to meet a man who *didn't* lood
good in a properly-fitted kilt.

(1) The "Royal" is legit; Queen Elizabeth II recognized them
as an honorary Royal regiment when she visited Seattle a
couple of decades ago.
