did anyone mention the books by lloyd allexander, the __ adventure?

i don't remember the heroine's name, but she and her watson-like uncle were 
based out of philladelphia, and she did just as well scrambling out a 
window, chasing/being chased over a mountain, or engaging in a battle of 
wits in the ballroom.

she was fun!  but i can't remember her name

ziviya, who can't remmeber the students' names either.  oh well, its only 
september...
