Have you tried opening it via the iTunes "File" menu?  That might be
more reliable than dragging and dropping.  I presume you want to
display this on your iPod's screen, right?  Because if you just want
to carry it around and load it on computers, that's much easier, just
drag and drop it onto the iPod in your Finder window.
