whoever started the thread on ellen kushner's books, thanks!
i just re-read them (thanks to inter-library loan :) ) and i remember how
much i had enjoyed them before, although from the on-line discussion, i
didn't know if the books i remembered were even the same as the ones i had
read lo these many years ago ...
thomas the rhymer was just as good as i remembered.
teh sword books - i seem to remember a story that wasn't in the books. how
clever of me! does anyone recognize this scene from somewhere else?
the swordsman is walking down the street and someone asks him for lessons.
he refuses (so far, that was in the book). the next morning or perhaps a
few days later, the refused student sneaks into the swordsman's house,
catches him and his lover half asleep adn tangled the blankets, puts his
(the student's) sword to the swordsman's throat, and politely insists on
getting lessons. the swordsman agrees, and warns the student its going to
be an awful lot of work, and the student is likely going to be sorry for
insisting.
now, i'm pretty sure i didn't make this up on my own. does anyone know
where it came from?
ziviya, who didn't commit fanfic that long ago.
