Regarding Lois's questions about RSS, myspace, etc. and her want 
(need?) to join this part of the internets, may I recommend to her 
those sistren (and some bretheren) of (generally) like age and 
sensibility out in library land who are struggling with similar 
questions?

There's a training program called "Learning 2.0" in which individual 
modualar lessons introduce blogs, and myspaces and flickr and RSS 
feeds and whatnot. Go at your own pace, take what you need and ignore 
the rest.
