When I mentioned Asimov, I of course completely forgot his Robots.  No
one can write about robots without paying homage to Asimov.

Also, I wonder if Sherlock Holmes qualifies?  Doyle invented the modern
scientific detective, can't write about crime solving without Holmes.

Are you looking for "Grand Masters"?  I could mention several.  Clarke,
Simak, van Vogt, DeCamp, to name a few.

Star Trek had its influence.
