Candy makers have been using corn syrup in candy for forever.  For 
technical reasons.  I mean, for like, over a hundred years.  It's not a 
conspiracy of ADM, it's to make better candy.  Not to make it more 
cheaply, but because corn syrup is called for by the recipe.
