sixteen uses language like that to ask someone out in a
professional setting?  If someone was fired for saying "you're
hot wanna catch a movie" it wasn't for asking someone out, it was
for doing so in a manner that is completely inappropriate for
ladies and gentlemen interacting in a place of business.

I believe you are gravely mistaken, sir.  Perhaps you would care
to proffer more details.  I'd be very surprised if someone has
been fired for saying, "I'd like to get to know you better.
Perhaps we can see a movie sometime?" to a single, available
co-worker.
