[LMB] Science fiction dying out?

I had a long conversation with a used bookstore owner.

He asserted that he expected Science Fiction to die out, more or less
completely, in the next 10-20 years.  That's based on his observation that
no one under 50 ever, ever, comes in to look at the SF section of the store.

I countered with a claim, based on casual observation, that he's just seeing
the decline in SF shelf space from the strange peak we had about 20 years
go.

Thoughts?
