[LMB] Bookstores may be doomed?

Another topic with the small, used bookstore owner.

He's seen marketing or been approached by people selling Just In Time, On
The Spot book printing. The salespeople claim that this is the future of
bookstores. He'll be able to sell any of hundreds of thousands of books on
the spot.

He thinks that, instead, it'll mean the end of many (most) bookstores. He
thinks we'll be getting our books from such machines at gas stations and
such. Who will need bookstores?

I've the thought that browsing is a very important part of book buying and I
still think of book stores as my personal candy store. But, it's true that
I'm doing 80%+ of my book browsing on http://amazon.com.

This, too, is a disturbing thought.
